Pickles have always played a major role in my dining affairs. From Vlasic sandwich stackers, to the crisp, bold Claussen varieties shown below, to the sour and half-sour ones served with cole slaw at true Jewish delis across the country, pickles provide the punch that can elevate an eating experience to flavorful new heights.

Since I love experimenting with food at home, I thought it would be fun to get some baby-sized cucumbers and give pickling a try myself.
